Kids Heart Challenge – Deadline Monday
Due to our snow days, our Kids Heart Challenge deadline has been extended until Monday, March 18.

Cultural Day April 5, 2024 at 12.30pm
Please join us for our annual Cultural Day show! Our students are working hard to show you what they have learned. During this year’s show, we will also celebrate the school’s 10-year anniversary! Doors open at 12pm, the show starts at 12.30pm. The CILA Art show will be on display following the performances.
EARLY Student Dismissal: In order to prevent any disruption to the show, students will not be allowed to go home until 10 minutes after the entire show has ended. If you wish to take your student(s) home early once this time has passed, you may send one parent/guardian (per family) to a student’s English classroom where a teacher will be waiting outside with a clipboard for early sign out..
Regular dismissal will still happen after school as normal – at 3:15pm from the field.

Science Day April 19, 2024
CILA Science Day is April 19th! We would like to invite you to sign-up your 3rd-5th grader to make a Science Fair Project to display on Science Day. Interested students will receive a packet with guidelines and tools to help them create a project.

Limiting the Spread of Illness
We are still in the midst of cold and flu season. Please help us keep illnesses at bay by keeping your students home if they are sick. The illnesses this season seem to be highly contagious. We need your help to contain sickness and ensure efficient instruction during this season.
Microwave Use in the Lunchroom
Microwave use is limited for 3rd-5th grade students. Please only send foods that require less than 1 minute of reheating. Too many students are waiting for microwave use and do not have enough time to eat before lunch is over.
Science Matters – Under the Sea (After School Club/Class)
Plunge into this club as we submerge into all of the wonders of the ocean. We will travel way down from the ocean floor up to the sandy shore, discover spectacular sea creatures, collect and classify shells, and much more. Get ready to soak up all the knowledge and adventure of the treasures of the sea.
The class meets on Mondays from 3:15 – 4:15 pm in the art room, and students will be picked up from the front entrance.
Class dates: 4/22/24, 4/29/24, 5/6/24, 5/13/24

Many parents ask throughout the year what the school needs. Currently, we need more of the items listed below. Please leave a note with any donated items that include your name and items donated so the PTO can count items toward volunteer time. Items may be dropped off at the front desk.

Jornada Cultural 5 de abril de 2024 a las 12.30 h
¡Únase a nosotros para nuestro espectáculo anual del Día Cultural! Nuestros estudiantes están trabajando duro para mostrarle lo que han aprendido. ¡Durante el espectáculo de este año, también celebraremos el décimo aniversario de la escuela! Las puertas se abren a las 12:00 horas, el espectáculo comienza a las 12:30 horas. La muestra de arte CILA se exhibirá después de las actuaciones.
Salida TEMPRANA de los estudiantes: para evitar interrupciones en el espectáculo, no se permitirá a los estudiantes regresar a casa hasta 10 minutos después de que haya terminado todo el espectáculo. Si desea llevar a su(s) estudiante(s) a casa temprano una vez que haya pasado este tiempo, puede enviar a un padre/tutor (por familia) al salón de clases de inglés del estudiante, donde un maestro lo estará esperando afuera con un portapapeles para firmar la salida temprana.
La salida regular se realizará después de la escuela con normalidad: a las 3:15 p. m. desde el campo.

Día de la Ciencia 19 de abril de 2024
¡El Día de la Ciencia de CILA es el 19 de abril! Nos gustaría invitarlo a inscribir a su hijo de 3.° a 5.° grado para hacer un proyecto de feria de ciencias para exhibirlo el Día de la Ciencia. Los estudiantes interesados recibirán un paquete con pautas y herramientas para ayudarlos a crear un proyecto.

Limitar la propagación de enfermedades
Todavía estamos en medio de la temporada de resfriados y gripe. Ayúdenos a mantener a raya las enfermedades manteniendo a sus estudiantes en casa si están enfermos. Las enfermedades de esta temporada parecen ser muy contagiosas. Necesitamos su ayuda para contener las enfermedades y garantizar una instrucción eficiente durante esta temporada.
Uso del microondas en el comedor
El uso del microondas está limitado para estudiantes de 3.º a 5.º grado. Envíe únicamente alimentos que requieran menos de 1 minuto de recalentamiento. Muchos estudiantes están esperando el uso del microondas y no tienen tiempo suficiente para comer antes de que termine el almuerzo.
La ciencia importa: bajo el mar (club/clase después de la escuela)
Sumérgete en este club mientras nos sumergimos en todas las maravillas del océano. Viajaremos desde el fondo del océano hasta la costa arenosa, descubriremos criaturas marinas espectaculares, recolectaremos y clasificaremos conchas y mucho más. Prepárate para empaparte de todo el conocimiento y la aventura de los tesoros del mar.
La clase se reúne los lunes de 3:15 a 4:15 p. m. en el salón de arte y los estudiantes serán recogidos por la entrada principal.

Vaqueros para sueños –Si los estudiantes desean donar $1, también pueden usar jeans los viernes.
Los estudiantes también pueden usar camisetas de CILA Spirit los viernes.
SE NECESITAN DONACIONES
Muchos padres preguntan a lo largo del año qué necesita el colegio. Actualmente, necesitamos más de los elementos que se enumeran a continuación. Deje una nota con cualquier artículo donado que incluya su nombre y los artículos donados para que el PTO pueda contar los artículos para el tiempo de voluntariado. Los artículos se pueden dejar en la recepción.
