Cultural Day Event
We are excited to announce our annual Cultural Day happening on March 17th at 12:30pm. Students already started practicing for their performance. We hope to see you all there!
Read Across America Day
In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday in March, CILA will celebrate reading on March 24th with fun activities centered around literature. Students are encouraged to dress as their favorite book character!
Science Day and Science Fair
CILA Science Day is April 14th! We would like to invite you to sign-up your 3rd-5th grader to make a Science Fair Project to display on Science Day. Interested students will receive a packet with guidelines and tools to help them create a project. Students must follow the Scientific Method as modeled in the packet in order to participate or projects will not be accepted. Sign-up by March 6th to receive your packet next week.

Kids Heart Challenge Update
We are so proud of students during Kids Heart Challenge at Colorado International Language Academy and their efforts to make our community a safer and healthier place! As of 2/27/2023, we have raised $3,061.22 in donations towards our $3,500.00 goal and 73 kids have activated Finn’s Mission!
Bonus Fun!
Our school’s goal is to have every family learn hands-only CPR and to raise $3,500 to help save lives! To help us reach our goal the whole school will get a color day when 25 students register online. When 50 students register online the whole school gets a heart day. When 75 students register online the whole school gets a Free dress day. When 100 students register online the whole school gets to wear PJs to school. When 125 students register online the whole school gets a dress like a hero day. Also – if you LOVE soccer, the Colorado Springs Switchbacks have a special opportunity for kids that raise $25 to come to a game! Students who raise $50 will get to go on the court at a Denver Nuggets Basketball game! Every student who raises $100 or more gets to SLIME Mrs. Black with DRAGON SNOT!

Students who are registered and have an online donation by Monday will be entered into a drawing with other students across the country for a Large Squishmallow or a $50 Amazon Gift Certificate and earn some of this year’s Heart Heroes!

A Message from the PTO:
If you are interested in helping to plan the World’s Fair our next meeting is on Tuesday, March 7th at 2pm in the school library. If you or someone you know would be interested in having a vendor table at the World’s Fair please contact pto-pres@cilaschool.org.
The final PTO General Meeting will be held in April. At this meeting the Board for the 2023-2024 School Year will be elected. If you are interested in or would like to know more about the positions available please contact Sara Burns at pto-pres@cilaschool.org.

Leer a través del Día de América
En honor al cumpleaños del Dr. Seuss en marzo, CILA celebrará la lectura el 24 de marzo con actividades divertidas centradas en la literatura. ¡Se alienta a los estudiantes a vestirse como su personaje de libro favorito!
Día de la Ciencia y Feria de la Ciencia
¡El Día de la Ciencia de CILA es el 14 de abril! Te invitamos a registrar tuestudiante de 3ro a 5to gradopara hacer un Proyecto de Feria de Ciencias para exhibir en el Día de la Ciencia. Los estudiantes interesados recibirán un paquete con pautas y herramientas para ayudarlos a crear un proyecto. Los estudiantes deben seguir el método científico como se modela en el paquete para poder participar o los proyectos no serán aceptados. Regístrese antes del 6 de marzo para recibir su paquete la próxima semana.

Si está interesado en ayudar a planificar la Feria Mundial, nuestra próxima reunión es el martes 7 de marzo a las 2 pm en la biblioteca de la escuela. Si usted o alguien que conoce estaría interesado en tener una mesa de proveedores en la Feria Mundial, comuníquese conpto-pres@cilaschool.org.
