A Message from the PTO:
The Family Dance will be held on Friday, February 24th from 5:30-7:30pm. There will be snacks for purchase as well as glow accessories.
There will be a jar to request songs for $0.25 per song near the DJ as well. We hope to see you there!!
If you are interested in helping to plan the World’s Fair our next meeting is on Monday, February 27th at 2pm in the school library. If you or someone you know would be interested in having a vendor table at the World’s Fair please contact pto-pres@cilaschool.org.
The final PTO General Meeting will be held in April. At this meeting the Board for the 2023-2024 School Year will be elected. If you are interested in or would like to know more about the positions available please contact Sara Burns at pto-pres@cilaschool.org.
The positions available are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Volunteer Coordinator, Fundraising Coordinator, and International Day Coordinator.
Please note that if you are volunteering at the school, in the classroom, and/or chaperoning a field trip a background check is required.

Kids Heart Challenge Update

Colorado International Language Academy students are Being the Torch and illuminating ways for our community to become healthier with Kids Heart Challenge! So far, we have raised $2,009.09 towards our $3,500.00 school goal. 61 Students have started Finn’s Mission and can take a health challenge and learn hands-only CPR!
Bonus Fun!
Our school’s goal is to have every family learn hands-only CPR and to raise $3,500 to help save lives! To help us reach our goal when 75 students register online the whole school gets a Free dress day. When 100 students register online the whole school gets to wear PJs to school. When 125 students register online the whole school gets a dress like a hero day. Also – if you LOVE soccer, the Colorado Springs Switchbacks have a special opportunity for kids that raise $25 to come to a game! Students who raise $50 will get to go on the court at a Denver Nuggets Basketball game! Every student who raises $100 or more gets to SLIME Mrs. Black with DRAGO

- If you haven’t already registered for Kids Heart Challenge, click on our school’s Kids Heart Challengelink or download the Kids Heart Challenge app for iPhone or Andriod.
- After registering, you can email or post to social media from the KHC website or app. How to Register for KHC Video.
- Students who are registered and have an online donation by Monday will be entered into a drawing with other students across the country for a Large Squishmallow or a $50 Amazon Gift Certificate and earn some of this year’s Heart Heroes!

Parent Teacher Conferences
Our second round of conferences will be held February 23rd from 4pm to 8pm. This second round is focused on students with academic concerns. Your student’s teacher will reach out to you to schedule a conference if they have concerns.
Family Literacy Event
Please join us on February 21st at 3.30pm for a fun Family Literacy Event. We will have a local author visit us and fun activities for families to support literacy at home.

El baile familiar se llevará a cabo el viernes 24 de febrero de 5:30 p. m. a 7:30 p. m. Habrá bocadillos para comprar, así como accesorios brillantes.
También habrá un frasco para solicitar canciones por $0.25 por canción cerca del DJ. ¡¡Esperamos verte ahí!!
Si está interesado en ayudar a planificar la Feria Mundial, nuestra próxima reunión es el lunes 27 de febrero a las 2 pm en la biblioteca de la escuela. Si usted o alguien que conoce estaría interesado en tener una mesa de proveedores en la Feria Mundial, comuníquese conpto-pres@cilaschool.org.
La reunión general final del PTO se llevará a cabo en abril. En esta reunión se elegirá la Junta para el año escolar 2023-2024. Si está interesado o desea obtener más información sobre los puestos disponibles, comuníquese con Sara Burns alpto-pres@cilaschool.org.

Conferencias de padres y profesores
Nuestra segunda ronda de conferencias se llevará a cabo el 23 de febrero de 4pm a 8pm. Esta segunda ronda está enfocada en estudiantes con inquietudes académicas. El maestro de su estudiante se comunicará con usted para programar una conferencia si tiene inquietudes.
Evento de alfabetización familiar
Únase a nosotros el 21 de febrero a las 3:30 p. m. para un divertido evento de alfabetización familiar. Tendremos una visita de un autor local y actividades divertidas para que las familias apoyen la alfabetización en el hogar.
